Montpellier-Veszprém pregame statements

Group winner MKB-MVM Veszprém is preparing for the last game of Champions League’s 2014/15 season. They will have an away match against the 4th, qualified Montpellier in France. We made interview relating to the tournament with Coach Ortega, Xavi Sabaté, Renato Sulic and Iman Jamali.

 

 

Carlos Ortega, head coach:

Although we’ll have a match without any pressure, it will be a hard game against the team of Montpellier who welcomes us in its beautiful home, probably in full-house arena. Their fast breaks are especially strong so it is difficult to defend against them. I think both teams will endeavour to win, the spectators will see a great game. We’ll do everything we can to finish the group round with success and to deserve the 1st place.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté, assistant coach:

Montpellier’s 4th place and our 1st place are assured, both of us qualified. But now it is not significant for us. We have to win, to become even better and to prepare for the upcoming tasks because in three weeks we’ll be playing in Champions League’s eighth final. We are going forward and we have to keep in mind that we are Veszprém and this team always has to endeavour to win. Montpellier is an extremely fast team, their fast breaks are dangerous. Repertoire of their offensive moves is large; they have many young and talented players who are great individually as well as in cooperative work.

 

 

Renato Sulic, pivot:

Nothing depends on this match for neither of the opponents so players can really enjoy playing handball. These games without any pressure have advantages and disadvantages. In spite of being group winners, we still want to win on Sunday and perform our best to show everyone that we are the top squad out of the six teams. We are still hungry for success; we want to gain those two points. We’d like to win for ourselves as well as our fans. We want to perform well and improve our tactics.

 

 

Iman Jamali, left back:

I’m also going to France with the team and I hope I can come onto the court to help my team in my first Champions League’s match in this season. I’m really looking forward to this game; I think everyone loves these CL matches. We cannot be tired of this, this is the highest level, and these are the most important clashes. We are the group winners, which is quite satisfying but obviously we will strive to win. It will be difficult, because Montpellier is great team especially at home and always fights hard.
