Xavi Sabaté: First of all I would like to congratulate Szeged and Coach Pastor for the victory. The spectators saw a very good and exciting game between the two teams as always. The atmosphere was phenomenal, it was a great experience playing here. In the second half we made a lot of technical mistakes, we had about 8-10 turnovers, which is too much to beat Szeged. Our defense was good, Szeged scored 26 goals which is acceptable here. Unfortunately our offense was not enough today. We are sad because we wanted to win the game. We keep on going, there is a lot of games to be played this season. The international break comes in a great time for us because our injured players can recover. October was a difficult month for us, we played a lot of games in away against strong teams. We have to stay positive and keep on fighting. We would like to say a big thank you to our fans for being here, and for László Nagy for playing today despite of his injury. It shows how great of a sportsman he is.

 

Roland Mikler: This is my seventh season playing this derby which is always a fantastic battle. Since I play in Veszprém this was our first defeat against Szeged, with which we are not satisfied because we came here to win. This game is noted in Europe. Hats off to Szeged, they played very well. It is very hard to beat us in any court. If we have not made this many turnovers and let them make easy fastbreak goals we could have won.

 

 

Juan Carlos Pastor: Congratulations to my players, to the club and to our fans. It is very difficult to beat Veszprém. It was important for us that we could keep our lead throughout the game. We had some difficulties in defending against Palmarsson in the first half. We tried a few defense tactics but eventually we played in the six-zero formation. This victory is very important for our 3-year project. The guys fought hard and we have to carry on doing this. It is still October, we have a lot of difficult games waiting for us until the end of the season. We have to enjoy this victory. We showed that we are able to beat a very strong Veszprém. There are approximately 15 teams in Europe that are hard to beat on their home court. We still have to improve to win games like this on the road.

 

Jose Manuel Sierra: For me this was a very important victory. It is only 2 points but for us it will be very important in the future. I would like to give a shout out to my goalkeeper partner last years because we tried to do everything we could in order to beat Veszprém last years, just like we did today with my new partner.
