Xavi Sabaté: I congratulate for the team and fans of Szeged, we have played a fair and great match. In the first half our defense was great and Mirko saved fantastically and we made a lot of goals from fast breaks. We were also good in the second half; however Szeged could catch up even from a 3-4-goal disadvantage. Every season is hard and this was especially hard because we have 56 tough matches behind us. Against Szeged this was probably the hardest season since I am here. They have an excellent coach, they are getting better and they are getting more financial support. It would have been a miracle to win in Szeged today. I am very happy and proud of the players. Congratulations to the boys and to our fantastic fans.

 

Juan Carlos Pastor: Congratulations on Veszprém championship Title. They key was that we have to chase Veszprém during the whole time. We made a lot of mistakes because we were nervous. It was a big deal that we could manage to catch up from a 4-goal disadvantage. Veszprém is more experienced in playing matches like this and that is why they could win. This game was a big illusion for everyone here, in Szeged. I would like to thank our fans for the support. Moreover I thank the team for their work during the whole season. I thank the Club that we could work in peace and that we could concentrate on handball, as well. Our fate was depending on one goal each in all tournaments. One goal is not much but it would have been from the point of view of the progress. We are working on it in the followings. We continue the work in order to get close to the Title in the future as well.

 

László Nagy: I congratulate to the team of Szeged and their fans. The first match was tight and Szeged got closer to us. We felt that they are optimistic and trusting. We knew that we need a very good defense and goalkeeper performance today. Szeged’s defense was also good and the goalkeeper’s replacement brought good results for them. At the end of the game Szeged tried the impossible which they almost managed to do it. A little luck was needed at the end. Szeged is getting closer and closer to Veszprém during the years. We have not taken them lightly before and we will not after this game. I got really tired however until I was resting, Zeitz did well and he stole two times. Congratulations to my team and our fans.

 

Szabolcs Zubai: Congratulations to Veszprém and I wish them the best in Final4. We made big mistakes in the first half and we had to run after them. We can bear a lot and because of that we could catch up. I am proud of my teammates. It would have been great to win something in this year and not to say goodbye from some of our teammates with a silver medal. We indeed are getting closer and closer to them. We will do everything what we can in order to catch up with them in the future, too.
