Javier Sabaté: We really took the match seriously and we performed great against a great team. We barely had time to prepare for this game, moreover we had injured players. But this is what sport is about, there are injuries in all teams but we could show what a real team is. Those players who were able to play in this game did an excellent job. I think the key to our victory was our excellent performance in defense in the first half; our goalkeeper performed great, and we could score several easy goals. We played the same in the second half; we succeeded in beating our opponent’s 6-0 and 5-1 defense. I thank my players for their amazing achievement, especially Péter Gulyás who had been playing in the past six weeks despite his injury.

 

Ivan Sliskovic: I think this was a great game; we were especially good at defense which led to our confident victory against such a great team like Meshkov Brest.

 

Sergey Bebeshko: Veszprem were today stronger team in all aspects. We’ve played against one of Europe’s best teams. Our goalkeeper Charapenka got injured after only 15 minutes and Patotski does not have required experience for such a game. We have to think about this game. Professional players should play fully motivated and focused until the end and not think about vacations before the final whistle.

 

Maksim Baranau: I agree with the coach, we did not fight until the end. Veszprem is a strong team, and we got a serious lesson. I hope we’ll show better performances in future matches.
