2021. Aug. 21. Saturday, 13:39
We are playing our first competitive match of the season on Monday August 23 at 20:00, against RK Nexe in the SEHA League quarter-finals. The match is behind open doors, fans are welcome to attend support the boys! Spíler2 TV is broadcasting the match live from 8PM.
RK Nexe finished second in the Croatian championship last season, and they are regular contenders in the EHF Cup as well. They have also been part of the SEHA League from its very beginning; their best result was 4th place in the 2019/20 season. The team's backbone have been playing together for years and they weren't particularly active in the transfer window this summer.
The head coach of Nexe is Branko Tamse who, in the past, was in charge of Celje when the Slovenian team produced an excessive amount of talented players. Gasper Marguc, Blaz Blagotinsek and Máté Lékái all played under Branko Tamse for years.
RK Nexe began their pre-season very early as they are starting their international campaign with EHF Cup qualifiers on August 31.
Last time the two teams played against each other was in the 2016/17 season away in Croatia. The match ended 29-29, with Andreas Nilsson scoring the most goals, 7 to be exact.
Telekom Veszprém's programme continues on August 26 at home against Nexe, in the second leg of the SEHA League quarter-finals. The pre-season period ends with a practice match against THW Kiel on August 28, in front our fans in the Veszprém Arena.
Hajrá Veszprém!
