Interview with Vladimir Cupara

It has been official for two weeks now that Vladimir Cupara, the goalkeeper of PGE Vive Kielce will continue his career in Telekom Veszprém from July 2019. Our website asked Vladimir about his signing and goals with his new Club.

You will play in Veszprém starting the summer of 2019. Why did you choose the Hungarian record champions?

Because every condition is like I want. In addition, Veszprem is one of the best teams in the world with history and it will be an honor to me to play there. Working with Arpad Sterbik and Haris Porobic is very important to me.

We currently have two Serbians in the team. Did you talk to them, or anyone from the team before you decided to sign with Veszprém?

Yes, I spoke with them; I also spoke with Nemanja Vucic, Haris Porobic and Arpad Sterbik before signing to Veszprém.

You have already played in the Veszprém Arena this season, when your current team met with your next team in the Champions League. How do you remember that game and what impressions do you have about our Arena?

The atmosphere was incredible, I liked it so much. It is going to be special for me because I like to celebrate my saves with fans. I cannot wait to start to play in Veszprem Arena!

What are your goals in Veszprém?

To win every single competition. Of course first the Hungarian championship and then the Champions League.

What is your proudest moment in your career so far?

When I was awarded best goalkeeper of the Spanish Asobal league. Also now when I signed my contract with Veszprém.

How would you describe yourself as a goalkeeper?

I always give my 100%. I like to celebrate my saves with fans and I like to be aggressive on the goal line.

The World Championship will start soon. What do you expect from your national team and what do you think about the groups?

We have a difficult job because we have a new head coach and new young team, but we train very hard we have good relations and that is our power. We will be ready on the time.

Last question: What is your message to the Veszprém Fans?

Only one thing, let’s celebrate all good thing and please have faith in me because I will give 200% to make this big club even bigger! It is very hard job but I am ready for that! Hajra Veszprem!!
