Interview with Rogerio Moraes Ferreira

It has become official that the line player of HC Vardar, Rogerio Moraes Ferreira will continue his career in Telekom Veszprém from the summer of 2019. We talked about the Brazilian player about his signing.

You will be the player of Telekom Veszprém from the summer of 2019. Why did you choose Veszprém?

It was very easy to choose Veszprém, because they are a top club in the world. Also, because David Davis works here now, and we have worked together in Vardar for two years and we lived a great experience together and have great memories from Macedonia. I am very happy to sign with Veszprém and I know that I will have all support to be a better player. I will play on a high level all the time. This is why I chose Veszprém.

Before your decision did you talk to anyone from Veszprém or anyone who played here before?

I talked with my manager before signing. He told me that everything works well here, and it is a professional club. In addition, David Davis started working here and told me: “Samba, do not worry. Everything is good here and really professional.” I did not have a problem to sign with Veszprém!

You have already played against us this season with Vardar. How do you remember to that game and the Arena itself?

I played a lot of times here with Kiel and also with Vardar in the SEHA League. It was always really hard to play here because the fans made a great atmosphere. It is one of the hottest Arena in the world, for sure. I cannot wait to play with this support on my side next season.

What is your proudest moment in your career so far?

When I signed my first professional contract with Kiel. That was a good experience for me because I could learn so much there. I am also very proud of the time we won every cup with Vardar in my fifth season. It was a big step in my career and I lived my dream that season. It was amazing. The reception in Skopje was wonderful.

Please talk a little bit about yourself. How would you describe yourself on and off the court? Family maybe? Any hobbies?

I am a team player. I like to be at home mostly and relax. I like smaller cities because those are calm, Veszprém is a kind like that. In my free time, I like to stay at home. I was in Budapest six years ago and I really liked it, I am sure that I will visit it again. I hope that next season I can work step by step toward achieving so many trophies with Veszprém. I want to make history with the club. It will be a priority for me here.

For closing, what is your message to the Veszprém fans?

We all know how the Fans are in this city. They love handball. I would like to say that together we can do big things. The players will work hard every training and every game and with your support we can achieve every goals next season.
