‘Only a perfect game can make an invulnerable team vulnerable’ – claims Máté Lékai, playmaker of Telekom Veszprém
Last weekend’s Champions League match left the team with rather emotional than physical marks on the players of Telekom Veszprém but they do not have time to deal with it because on next Sunday they will have to fight against PSG again. However, this match will take place away, in the home of the French team.
‘We have to deal with a team, which is well-compiled and has no weak points. With certifying new players they corrected what counted as weakness last year. However, only a perfect game can make an invulnerable team vulnerable and only then can we win against them on their home court.’- said Máté Lékai, 28-year-old playmaker of Telekom Veszprém, who has also the same post on the National Team.
What is not allowed?
The owner of jersey No.66 said the followings to the colleague of Telekom Sporthír Szolgálat when he was asked what they should pay attention to during the match on Sunday.
‘According to last Sunday’s experience I can definitely say that we need to play with less technical mistakes and bad shootings, moreover we need to utilize the chance of penalties and then we can be successful in Paris. Besides these we need to live with the opportunity to take advantage from fast breaks, which is one of the biggest strength of the French team. A lot can depend on how fast the two teams can take back their places, what the other team cannot break through, after a shot.’ – emphasized Máté, who arrived in Veszprém from the Slovenian team, Celje with Gasper Marguc in 2014.
They are the best and at the same time they are not
Lékai does not agree with those who think that PSG is the world’s best team but he thinks that they are the best in the Champions League right now.
‘The situation is that the European TOP-tournament has 6 participants with almost the same knowledge and performance and all of them are able to defeat the others depending on their actual physical and mental state. The fact that we got defeated with only one goal at the end of a really hard game against the first team, proves the above mentioned things. Moreover it would not be any sense to examine the referees’ decisions after the match.’
Guest success for the second time, too?
Máté Lékai told that neither of the teams can believe that they will have an insuperable advantage in the first half, in other words the fate of the match will probably be decided in the last few minutes or exactly in the last minute.
‘This match will have three options as for the result but I and everybody in my team think that there can be another guest success in 168 hours.’ – emphasized Máté Lékai.
