It has become official today that the goalkeeper of Grundfos Tatabánya and the Hungarian national team is going to continue his career in Telekom Veszprém starting July 2019. We talked with him on the occasion of his signing.
You are moving to Veszprém from the summer of 2019. Why did you choose the Hungarian record champions?
I have to say that for a Hungarian player it is honoring to be rumored with Veszprém, not to mention when they call you and would like to sign you. I feel like this is a kind of destination that can be considered an end destination, because there is no higher level than this in the world. It is humbling and it a dream come true. It might sound like a cliché but I think that this chance should mean this in the life of a handball player.
You have only played as an opponent in the Veszprém Arena, and in the jersey of the national team. How do you look back on those games, what kind of memories do you have?
One thing is for sure, I have to highlight the atmosphere because that kind of cheering either as an opponent or as a home team in the national team is one of a kind. This Arena is a an amazing one and I cannot wait for my first game here.
What is your proudest moment in your career?
The fact that I am where I am. It had its own steps I had to take. You learn something or get something everywhere you play. If I have to say one from the near past, I would say beating Szeged at home with Tatabánya last year, and we could do the same thing with Veszprém this fall. I owe a lot to Tatabánya and all my former clubs so this interview can be done right here and right now.
What are your goals in Veszprém?
It is without question that every goal Veszprém set up next year, I will help the team with the best of my qualities and chances. I would like to help the team as best as possible in reaching its goals. I would like to live with the chance this Club gave me by performing the best possible.
For closing, what is your message to Veszprém Fans?
I will do anything in my power to be able to close a great season with the team, just as I did with my former teams. One thing is for sure, there will be no lack of hard work and desire to win.
