The Club announced yesterday that the new assistant coach of MVM Vszprém is Josep Asper Moya. We made a short interview him.
Welcome to our Club!
Thank you very much. It is great to be here.
Please summarize shortly your career as player and coach.
I was the player of FC Barcelona many years ago, between 1996 and 2000. Then I played at Balonmano Altea and Algeciras which is a team in the second division. After this I started to be a coach in the second and third division in Spain.
Please share with us the story how you became the new assistant coach of Veszprém?
Some weeks ago I spoke with Xavi (Sabate) and he told me he would like to have me as his assistant coach at Veszprém in order to help the work of this team. It was a very important decision for me and of course a very nice news for me, because I love handball and working at a club like Veszprém is the maximum thing I can do.
What are your biggest motivation joining to Veszprém?
I have a very big motivation for working at a huge club like this and being a part of a team which has some of the best players in the world. Moreover working with Xavis is also very important for me. This club has fantastic supporters so living here in this city will be very nice for me. I want to help everybody to get our goals.
What will be your main things to do as the member of coaching staff?
Xavi would like that I specialize myself on the video analysis, tactics and physical preparation. But of course anything the team needs I will do.
Please describe your personality with some words?
I am very committed to being a team member. The handball is my passion and my love, I breathe together with this sport. I always try to give my best to everybody.
What do you like to do mostly in your free time? What are your hobbies?
Doing sports generally. I love sports.
Some words to the fans…
I will give my best for this team, for this Club and of course for the fans. I would like to ask them to support us like always and I hope together we can achieve our all big goals. Hajrá Veszprém!

Thoughts of head coach Xavier Sabate about the new assistant coach:
Josep is a person who I know for a long time, and I trust him 200%. I am sure he will give everything and he will work 24 hours if it is necessary. He is a very good professional, he has a very good commitment to a group, he is an organized worker and he has a quiet but very positive personality. He is ready work with the new technologies. He will help to organize our work and he will specially focus on the physical preparation and tactical scouting. I am sure he will help a lot to the team and the Club.
