Gábor Ancsin set the standards higher
Gábor Ancsin has contributed to the victory with 5 goals against THW Kiel on the Champions League match on Saturday. On Sunday he cheered for Szeged, to his previous team, but on Monday morning his heart was here in Veszprém again.
“As a player of Veszprém I can say that I have played my best match so far and one can call it as an unforgettable memory, too. I could fit into the team really quick and of course I am glad that I was always among the nominated players except one match. This is a good start but I would like to set the standards higher for myself. It is a pleasure to be the member of a team, which is still undefeated in its group and its goal is to be not only finalist but CL winner for the first time. It would be amazing if such a success would top up my first season in Veszprém.”- said the almost 26 years old Gábor Ancsin to Telekom Sporthír Szolgálat.
Mikler would be good as a prophet also
Roland Mikler, one of the heroes during the match against Kiel, said that the performance of the goalkeepers would have a determinative role.
“Roli was right about it and he proved it in the most successful way. It is a huge deal that one of the Bundesliga’s hotshots could score only 19 goals thanks to Mikler and the excellent teamwork of the defense. Moreover we have injured players including László Nagy and Máté Lékai but we could still win.”- continued Gábor Ancsin, who thinks that the following weeks will have a lot of challenge for them.
First of all, against Szeged for Veszprém
24 hours later, when the celebration of Javier Sabaté’s team has ended in the Veszprém Arena, Gábor Ancsin sat in front of the TV with a great hope that another Hungarian victory will born in Skopje. It would have born…
“It cannot be said that Vardar was expected to win with 3 goals because my previous team was always in the game even if Gorbok was not playing because of his injury. I cheered for them for 60 minutes but I think it is a self-evident thing because I cheered for a Hungarian success. I paid a huge attention to their play because there will be a derby against the rival Szeged soon, where I will face them for the first time as a member of Veszprém. Needless to say that I will fight as I can for the success of Veszprém.”
First Barcelona, then PSG
Before Telekom Veszprém would play against Szeged on October 29, they have to overcome the most difficult obstacle in the CL series. On October 22, the goal is to stay unbeaten in the home of Barcelona, who are on the top of group “A”.
“Without a doubt I can say that we are fighting in the most powerful group, from where it will be a twofold success if we can qualify ourselves, however I cannot say that it will be easier later. Minimum 6 or rather 8 teams – including us – want to get into the final four but the group of teams who got the chance for that is very big. It is new for me to play in the SEHA League because it means an international challenge besides the CL, however one can get used to that so I am on it right now.” – emphasized Gábor Ancsin.
The Telekom Veszprém – PSG CL match, which is awaited with great interest, will be held on November 20. The rematch will be a week later in Paris.
