Interview with Dejan Manaskov

 

Dejan Manaskov joined Telekom Veszprém in the season 2017/18, where he became an instant favorite among the Supporters thanks to his dynamic, fast and spectacular style. No better proof needed for this, than the Fans voting him as the last season’s best player, hence giving him the Carlos Perez Award of 2018. On this occasion we asked the Macedonian left wing about his first year, his summer and about his expectations about the next season.

 

 

The summer was good. I was in Greece a couple of times, in Mykonos and Corfu. It is close to Macedonia, so it was good. I was also in Skopje with family and friends. Now I got 2 days more and I am going back to Veszprém.

 

It was not how we wanted last year. Something was missing at the end and we lost the title and could not go in the Final4. The Fans and the Club was disappointed of course, because they wanted us to win the Hungarian championship and to play in the Final4. In the K&H League we were really close, we missed it with only one goal. This is sport, sometimes it happens. We have to be better this year and train, train, train. We have to win everything next season.

 

I am happy for my performance and that I got a 2 years extension from the Club. The most important, however, is the team and to achieve our goals. We did not fulfill our goals last year. My performance is not so important. I always want to win titles and it is not important how I play. Last year I played well, next year someone else will. The most important thing for us is to be together.

 

 

It is great, when you come to a big Club like Veszprém, with a lot of good players, and manage to win this title. I am proud of this and I have more motivation to work harder and to help the team get better. I want to win the Champions League with Veszprém because I know how important it is for the Club and Supporters. I want to be the part of winning the first Champions League for Veszprém.

 

It will be hard as always. We have to prepare well because we will have a lot of tough games this year. We know how difficult it is to play in the Champions League. Every game will be like a final for us. We have to be better and better every day. We have some new players who have to come to the team to see the plays. We will try to play to win of course. We have to prepare well to have good condition.

 

It will be a long season. It is early to say anything now. We have to be better than last year. This is the first and primary goal. We have to win the Hungarian league and Cup and we have to play in the Final4. It will not be easy but we will have to do it. I hope that we can reach our goals next year. If we prepare well and play as good as we played in the first 3 month of last year, we can do it.
