Interview with Dejan Manaskov

Welcome to Veszprém, Dejan! How does it feel being here already?

I am happy to be here, and I am happy to be the part of this team. I joined a very good club with tradition so I will give everything to be succesfull in every competition.

What do you know about Veszprém city? What are you memories about the city and the Arena? What was your first impression about the city and the area around it?

I was here a couple of times, I played in the Arena. It is a small city with traditional culture. Unfortunately I do not know much about the city but I will learn about it for sure.

What was the main reason you joined Telekom Veszprém?

The main reason was that Veszprém fight for every title and I wanted to play in a team like this. They want to be the first in every championship they play in.

Please speak about the start of your career! Where and how did you start playing handball?

I was 10 years old when I started playing handball in my hometown 15 kilometers from Skopje. I was there for 5 years after that I joined the youth team of Metalurg Skopje. I played there for a couple of years and after that I went to play with Wetzlar, Vardar Skopje then Löwen and now in Veszprém.

In the last season you won the Bundesliga with your former club, Rhein-Neckar Löwen. Please speak about this!

I was very happy about that because you have to have luck to win the Bundesliga in half a year. It was a really nice but tough year with many games lost but in the end it was very good.

What do you think about your new team which signed 4 new players and Ljubomir Vranjes as head coach?

I think we have a great team with a great coach. Now we need to put some hard work to be better and to improve. I think we can reach our goals.

Do you know personally anyone from your new teammates?

Yes, I know a lot of the players. We are colleagues, we played against each other many times.

Looking back to the recent weeks, how was your summer vacation going? Where did you spend your holiday?

It was good. I was in Mykonos, Greece and again for a few days back in Greece. Other than that I was in my hometown, Skopje.

What do you like to do in your free time? Do you have any hobbies?

I like being with my friends and family. I like drinking coffee and walk around the city with my friends.

Please describe yourself as a player and as a private person!

As a player I am a winner, I want to win everytime. I want to be better and better everytime. As a person I like to be with my friends and family.

Final question: what is your message to the supporters?

I am really excited to play in this Arena. I played here a couple of times and the atmosphere was really nice but now I am playing for Veszprém. It is special to play in this Arena because I think they have one of the best fans in the world.
