Interview with Carlos Perez about Marian Cozma

 

On Friday, our Club organizes a commemoration for honoring our former player Marian Cozma, with the help of Veszprém City and the Veszprém Fan Association. Many of his former teammates will be present in the event. We asked Carlos Perez, among others, how he remembers Marian.

 

 

During our first meeting, I thought how tall he was. Then, I thought how small his head is compared to his body size, like a child’s head. It was strange, because next to his huge size he really had the innocence and kindness of a child. Our first meet was great.

 

He was a great man and an even better team player. He was better and better every year, he improved a lot after coming here. He would have a been a star by now, but he needed to work on his talent. There was a huge potential in him.

 

He helped on and off the court, if he could. We played a lot of games together and I am very sorry for what happened to him because he was a great player. He was a funny and entertaining person. We enjoyed each other’s company a lot, we went out to drink or eat something. My favorite memory about him is that every time I saw him in the city by car, his legs were almost hanging out of the car. Unfortunately, I was older when he was here, and he mostly found the rhythm with the youngsters. Regardless of this, we hung out a lot together.
