In Focus: Celje

MKB Veszprem takes on a very energetic yet young Slovenian Side, RK Celje PL in the so called “Group of Death”. Laszlo Nagy and his team are hoping for yet another successful road trip.

According to our club offices, the 850 tickets that were allotted by the Slovenian side were quickly snapped up by fellow supporters. However, a few ambitious fans will be making the trip to Slovenia hoping to be able to purchase tickets at the Zlatorog Arena. Our traveling fans will depart by a number of buses and more than a dozen cars. The winner of the Velux-Company award was our club and Polish KS Vive Targi Kielce fan group.

Throughout history, Veszprem has played two champions league games in Celje, so they will not be new to the environment.

However, MKB VKC  should be expecting a much tougher game from the 17x Slovenian Champion, and 15x Slovenian Cup winner RK Celje PL.

Carlos Ortega expressed his thoughts; warning that RK Celje PL will play a high tempo match. However, as to any team, there is also a weakness that he observed. They have no tall players, which could be exploited by MKB VKC’s 6^th line.

Aside from injuries, the worst possible outcome would be a loss, which would result in 2^nd place for MKB Veszprem. On paper VKC surely look the stronger of the two, but games aren’t won on paper, are they?
