Congratulations, because at the vote on our official website according to the Veszprem fans you were the best player of the last season. How does it feel?
Thank you, it is a great honor to me, obviously. We got some great results last year and we played really well at times. I am really proud and honored to be nominated at this vote.
It has been already two months since the end of the last season. What do you think about your first season in Veszprem, personally, and also all together in the team?
Obviously it was a big change for me, coming here from Germany. However I think I have got used to it very quickly, I like the handball we play here in Veszprem. We have everything as well, like our Arena and training facilities, they are amazing. So, like I have said it is not like Germany, but I really like being here.
Great to hear it! How did you spend your vacation?
I went to France to the European Championship, and obviously supported the most popular team at the Tournament, Iceland (smiling). I stayed there for about two weeks. Then I spent a long weekend in Munich, because my friend got married there. Then I spent one month in Iceland as well.
Maybe the other most popular team at the European championship was the Hungarian National Team. You have predicted an easy Icelandic triumph previously, although it became a draw. Were you be there at the game?
Yes, I saw it alive, and I have to admit that we did not deserve a lot from that game, the Hungarian team was much better. Fortunately, we still got the one point, and so we could won against Austria and then went through to the next round, so it did not matter at that time. I mean, we were really happy during the game, but still really nervous, because the Hungarian players overplayed us, I must say. All in all it was really amazing to be there and see those Hungarian fans, I got a little taste of them here in Veszprem. It was an amazing atmosphere made by the fans of these two nations.
We are facing the new season, it is going to be a very long season with a lot of games. What are your expectations?
Obviously we want to do better than we did last season. We would like to win the Champions League, and of course, every title that we compete in, as it has always been the main goal in Veszprem as I have heard so. Last year we almost did it, but this year we would like to improve even more and play even better. We did not have much time before the beginning of Hungarian League but still we would like to give our best and so get some better results.
