Gyöngyös started this round of the K&H League, but Veszprém’s defense and Corrales did not let them capitalize from the first offense. Manaskov scored the first Telekom goals in the 3rd minute. The home team was only behind Veszprém by one goal in the 10th minute, 4:5. At the half mark of the period, the well-known line change started with Markussen, Mahé, Yahia and Ligetvári in the defense. Gyöngyös was on the neck of Veszprém and stayed at a two goal difference in the 22nd minute with 9:11 on the board. The „Építők” lead some great offense by the end of the half and managed to gather a six goals lead or 11:17, from which the home team could only erase one. In the intermission the standing is 12:17.
 
The second half was kicked off with a Manaskov goal and a penalty for Gyöngyös. Marguc was particularly in his element, he scored from penalty, from the wing and even from fastbreak, and made the difference eight between the teams. Csaba Konkoly called a time out immediately in the 38th minute, at 15:23. Two minutes later, the difference grew to ten goals. Veszprém still had a 18:28 lead in the 45th minute. Leading from start to end, and all in all with a great performance Veszprém managed to win in Gyöngyös and is waiting for the Champions League clash of Wednesday against the Spanish champions Barcelona. David Davis: The first half was okay in terms of result and the defense, but I was not satisfied with the attitude. In the second half this changed. The defense was all right and the goalkeepers saved well. I am satisfied with the final result. It is hard to play here, and they have a great head coach. Every team will suffer here, because they play with the full team all game long.
 
Nikolaj Markussen: We were prepared for a hard game. The atmosphere was incredible. I feel like we gradually improved during the game. In the second period our defense was very good and we could run from that. Our players showed their individual talents.

 

 
Csaba Konkoly: We prepare the same way to every team, even to Veszprém and Szeged. I am happy that this is visible to the outside as well. Thanks to our fans who showed their support today. I think we were head-to-head in the first half, but we had a blackout for three minutes, which cannot be done against a Champions League winner candidate. We made a lot of technical mistakes in the second half, from which they scored easy goals. I can be satisfied with my team, I like working together with them. They have the same kind of mentality.
 
Martin Gráf: Congratulations to Veszprém, we played a good game. We did not went into the game with our hands above our heads. We had a melt down in the first half, that is why the bigger difference. In the second half we made silly personal mistakes and conceded easy goals. Good luck to Veszprém.
