This Friday, that is the 25th of August, is the beginning of Handball City Festival which is organized for the 40th anniversary of our Club.
There will be a trial bicycle show by Hege Show on the square in front of the Veszprém Arena shortly after the gates will be opened at 6 p.m.
There will be 3 entrances open to the square for all 3 days of the Festival. One from the side of the parking lot (Carlos Perez walkway), one from the overpass and one from the side of the cashier where there will be tickets still up for grabs.
At the same time our brand new Fan shop and new Web shop will be opened where our new jerseys for the season 2017/2018 can be bought and our T-shirt for the Festival will be available also.
The participants of our tournament will be introduced by Edit Szalay who is known from the VELUX EHF Champions League Final4. Firstly the two teams who play the first semi final will go on stage, the Slovenian champions RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko and the winner of the Champions Legaue in 2016, KS Vive Kielce. After the Polish champion comes the runner up of Poland, Orlen Wisla Plock. Lastly comes the 2017/2018 team of Telekom Veszprém who are going to present our jerseys for the new season provided by our new sport apparel sponsor hummel.
After intorducing the teams the supporters will have the opportunity to meet the players on the square. Fans have time until 8:30 p.m. for the collection of photos and autographs because games await the players the next day. It will worth staying on the square as various booths will wait for the guests, a DJ will play songs and to top all this off there will be fireworks to lift up the end of the evening.
The square will open at 1 p.m. on Saturday and the Arena will open its gates at 2 p.m. Kielce – Celje semi final will start at 3:30 p.m. while Veszprém – Plock will begin at 6 p.m. It worth staying on the square after the games as the concert of Vad Fruttik will start at 8 p.m.
It is important that Fans who have a 3 days pass must keep their tickets as it will be the pass to enter the Arena in the next days.
On Sunday the gates will open 2 hours earlier (square 11 a.m. and Arena 12 a.m.) because from 1:30 p.m. the All-Star game will start which will be the farewell game for Péter Gulyás and Gergő Iváncsik. There will be two team fighting assembled by them in a 2×15 minutes game. The roster of the two teams are the following:

Team of Gergő Iváncsik: Imre Szabó – Gergő Iváncsik, Ivo Diaz, László Brenner, Tamás Iváncsik, Carlos Perez, Barna Putics, István Pásztor, Evgeny Lushnikov, Nikola Eklemovic. Coaches: Zdravko Zovko and Rudolf Csonti
After the derby we will retire our two icon's number celebratory, that is the number 4 and number 3 which will never be worn again by anyone in the team of Veszprém. Those jerseys will hang from the ceiling of the Arena besides number 6 of József Éles, number 8 of Marian Cozma, number 10 of Carlos Perez and number 11 of István Csoknyai.
After the stars of history comes the stars of today as the bronze game will begin at 3:30 p.m. while the Final will start at 6 p.m. In halfs of the games the dancers of Kid Rock and Roll will entertain the crowd.
After the Final we do not award only the participating teams but the Best Goalkeeper, the MVP of the tournament and Lékai Máté who was voted best player of Veszprém in the season 2016/2017. The award our playmaker will recieve will be called Carlos Perez award saluting our team's legend this way.
After the award ceremony the Arena closes at 9 p.m. while the square closes at 10 p.m.
