Foreshadow: Zagreb – Veszprém

MKB-MVM Veszprém is going to play against PPD Zagreb in SEHA League’s last but one match on Sunday at 7 pm in Varasd.

 

 

We will be without any pressure because winning against Brest assured our first place in the regular season of the South East European tournament. Although, as Coach Ortega and Mirko Alilovic said, the team will play to win in order to keep our perfect ratio in SL. This will be the last but one match in the regular season; now we will play with the 3rd team, and next Saturday the 2nd Vardar.

 

Currently, PPD Zagreb is on the top of the season and wants to stay there, however it has as many points as Presov. Moreover, Brest is behind with only three points and it had one game less than the two teams.

 

 

The Zagreb’s form is getting better thanks to Coach Veselin Vujovic. They qualified from their CL group; in addition during Champions League’s group round they got the fewest goals even if they had THW Kiel and PSG Handball in their group. These two teams ended in the 3rd place behind us overtaking our Final 8 opponent Naturhouse La Rioja. In addition, they scored as many points as Paris; both teams had six victories and four defeats. They defeated every team at home, although those matches were in Zagreb not in Varasd. In the hardest tournament, their most successful player is Zlatko Horvat who is the 18th with Dean Bombac and Holger Glandorf with 48 goals.

 

However in SEHA League, Presov and Brest were able to win as their guest teams. In this season, their most productive player is Luka Stepancic with 48 goals but Zlatko Horvat was also successful with 47 goals.

 

The teams’ clash in Veszprém ended with home victory; in our team Andreas Nilsson turned out to be undefeatable with his nine goals, while in the Croatian team Rakovic tried to draw up with him with four goals. We hope that also this time we will be able to gain triumph but we have to strive hard for sure.
