2015. Sep. 12. Saturday, 09:01
We have just arrived from Qatar and now we are facing a match in the SEHA League. The game takes place on September 12, Saturday, at 4 PM and the Serbian Vojvodina will be our guest team against which we have to win after our loss in the Super Globe final.
Live broadcast on Digi Sport2.
Last year, we played with Vojvodina twice and both games ended with the victory of Veszprém. The first game was our first performance in the SEHA League, on August 27, 2014. We gained glorious triumph (19:32), mostly thanks to the eleven goals of Momir Ilic.
The second game was our last game in 2014. We hosted the Serbian team on December 18 and we won in the end (31:26). The most productive Veszprém player in that game was Andreas Nilsson with his 7 goals.
Vojvodina – overtaking Radnicki – ended up in the 9th place in the 10-player table of the SEHA League, having two victories, four draws and twelve defeats in the regular season.
In the summer, leaving of Coach Dorde Cirkovic was the biggest change in the team of Vojvodina. Coach Cirkovic spent two successful years there and during this period the team won two Serbian Championships, moreover they gained the trophy of the League Cup and the Super Cup in the previous season. He is now leading the team of the Romanian Constanta. He was replaced by Nikola Markovic who had been the coach of the following teams: Red Star Belgrade, Konjuh Zivinice, Zelezničar Niš and Jugovic Kac. He still remained the coach of U19 Serbian team. Since he had participated in the World Championship in Moscow with the young players, he could join the preparation of his new team later.
Two Serbian national players left the team; namely the goalkeeper, Miroslav Kocić (Besiktas MOGAZ) and the left back, Uroš Elezović (Lehwiya, Katar) as well as the player of Montenegro, Vuk Lazovic (TUS Lubbecke). Russian giant Aleksey Rastvorcev signed for Vojvodina, who is really good at defence and offence as well. Other new players are the following: the pivot player, Goran Trkulja (Bidasoa), the 207-cm left back, Milan Vuckovic (Pozarevac) and the right wing, Aleksandar Gugleta (Radnicki).
Club director Darko Jevtic is satisfied with the new players. He thinks that their team has been strengthened and their defence and offence system has been broadened.
Vojvodina has had four games in the SEHA League in the 2015/16 season: they played a tie against Maks Strumica in an away game in the first round (25:25), and against Spartak Vojput in the Serbian derby (27:27). They lost their second and third game; first against Vardar (37:27), then in a home game against Nexe (24:26).
In the previous season, their SEHA League top scorer was the right wing Milos Orbovic with his 57 goals and he was the most successful in the new season with 19 goals.
