Foreshadow: Veszprém - Vardar

A huge match is waiting for the team and fans of MVM Veszprém on Saturday at 5:30 PM. We are going to start the rematch of the Champions League quarter-final against Vardar Skopje with an advantage of three goals. The stake is not other than the fight for the CL Final4 in Cologne, where ‘Építők’ would like to get to three times in a row. Of course the meeting will be arranged in front of full house, however there is going to be a giant screen in front of the Arena, where we are waiting for many fans too. Obviously every Veszprém fan was satisfied with the three-goal victory on last Saturday in Skopje. The team was also glad with the good result and of course with the game. However, Xavi Sabaté and the players who were asked emphasized that we should not be reassured by the advantage because the Macedonian team proved that they are capable of fighting down a multi-goal handicap. In turn, nobody could beat the team of Veszprém for a very long time on the home field (almost exactly three years ago THW Kiel managed to do it), however Sterbik and the others needs this victory to be qualified for the next game.

 

Vardar arrived in Veszprém on Thursday and Coach Raúl Gonzales conducted training that day just like today afternoon. This also shows how much they are dedicated regarding the rematch. The question is whether the two teams can show something new to each other on the fifth match in the season. However they would probably have done it one week ago, especially Vardar on home court.

 

 

Veszprém is also preparing and they have trained on a high level. Who were asked to make a statement – especially coach Sabaté – emphasized that they need the support of the fans more than ever before in order to be qualified for the next match.

 

Of course they are aware of it and that is why they asked us to share the following announcement:

We are going to go to the Arena together on Saturday. We will gather in ‘Fajancsi’ in the early afternoon and at 4:40 PM we will go to the Arena together in order to support our team. Everybody should wear red to ‘color’ the sectors! We kindly ask the members of the middle of B-sector to STAND ON THEIR PLACE because of the supporters’ activity before the match. Moreover, we also ask the others to support our “no-horn” cheering. Cross your fingers, everyone! Thank you.
