Telekom Veszprém will host Grundfos Tatabánya on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the K&H League in the Veszprém Arena. The game will be broadcasted live by m4sport.hu.
We met Tatabánya twice this season already, and both games were in away. In October, we suffered a surprising, 26:24 loss in the debut game of coach David Davis. Tonnesen, Nagy and Blagotinsek were the most efficient with three goals each, while from the opponent Jakov Vrankovic scored six times. The second encounter was a Hungarian Cup quarterfinal, also in Tatabánya. Here, learning from the previous loss, Veszprém played more aggressively and more prepared and finally won with nine goals, 21:30, and qualified for the Hungarian Cup FinalFour. Top scorer from Veszprém on that match was Borut Mackovsek with five goals.
The “Tigers” are currently on third place in the league, trailing by two points behind us. They played twenty games so far and won sixteen times, lost twice and finished two games in a draw. Their two losses came from Szeged and Gyöngyös. They played their last game against Vecsés, where they managed to win by ten goals, 24:34. Top scorer of the team in the K&H League is Milos Vujovic with 128 goals.
Tatabánya qualified for the quarterfinal of the EHF Cup by winning its group. In six group games they only lost once against Nexe. From that point on they won four games and played a draw. Their opponent in the quarterfinal will be the Danish side TTH Holstebro, they have to beat them to qualify for the FinalFour in Kiel. The most efficient player in the EHF Cup from Tatabánya is Milos Vujovic with 51 goals. This makes him the fourth top scorer in this European cup series.
The ”Építők” played their last domestic game in the beginning of this month in Monor against Vecsés. After a slow start the final result showed a twelve goals victory, 27:39. Our last opponent in the Champions League was Sporting CP at home in the eight-final. We managed to win that game as well with a confident 35:29 result, and we can prepare for Flensburg in the quarterfinal.
Let’s go Veszprém!
