Foreshadow: Veszprém – Tatabánya

 

On Sunday, at 6:00 p.m., Telekom Veszprém will host Grundfos Tatabánya KC in the last regular season game of the K&H League. M4 Sport will broadcast live from Veszprém Arena.

 

 

The last time we met Tatabánya, was an away game on 10 December. The match ended in a 28:31 victory for Veszprém. Our top scorer was Dragan Gajic with 6 goals, while from the opponent, it was Milos Vujivoc also with 6 goals. Sadly, this game ended badly for William Accambray, who played well and scored 4 goals, but ended up tearing his Achilles tendon in his left leg. His leg has immediately been operated, and William has been working on his comeback ever since.

 

Tatabánya has finished the championship on third place, for which they have already received the bronze medals last week. Our of their 25 games, they won 20, drawn twice and lost 3 times. Their lost games were against Szeged, Veszprém and Balatonfüred; however, they managed to beat Szeged at home, while ending in a draw against Vác and Dabas. Their last championship game was on 28 April, when they hosted Eger and won 35:28. The top scorer of the team in the league is Milos Vujovic with 138 goals this season so far.

 

Our next opponent attended the EHF Cup, where they played 2 games with the French side, Chambery in the 3rd Qualification round for the Group phase. In the first game, in Hungary, Tatabánya won by only one goal, 25:24. Vujovic scored 8 times, which made him the best player of the game. Unfortunately, they lost by two goals in France, which meant that they got eliminated from the EHF Cup by only one goal in aggregate. Top scorer for the “Tigers” in Chambery was Ádám Juhász, with 8 goals.

 

Telekom Veszprém played a game on Wednesday, when they hosted Dabas in the Arena. The game brought a confident “Építők” win, with 34:17 on the scoreboard at the moment of the final whistle. Before this, they played in the Hungarian Cup final in Debrecen, where they beat MOL-Pick Szeged and won the trophy in the middle of April.
