Foreshadow: Veszprém – Spartak Vojput

 Right after the Champions League game between Besiktas Mogaz and MVM Veszprém, which had resulted in the victory of Veszprém, our players had to face another match again. The Serbian Spartak Vojput Subotica visited our Arena in the framework of the SEHA League.

 

 

We had played against Subotica on October 30 and had gained a 16-goal victory (15:31). The Hungarian team had had a difficult start but the game had ended with an easy winning. Marguc had turned out to be our most successful player with 9 goals and Mikler had performed his best as well (20 savings).

 

The team of Spartak Vojput is currently in the last place on the SEHA League table counting 3 victories, 1 draw and 12 defeats. They had been defeated by PPD Zagreb in their previous match (29:35). Their most productive player in the South-East European handball league is Bojan Zupanjac with his 71 goals and he is currently in the 3rd place. In our team, Gasper Marguc is still the most successful one with 83 goals (2nd place).

 

 

In their pre-game statements, Coach Xavi Sabaté and Andreas Nilsson said that they had not had much time for the preparation; in addition to that they had been through a very hard CL match. The coach of the opponent team added that for them it is always a difficult task to play against such an outstanding team like MVM Veszprém; moreover they had to face two excellent teams within two days. They had not had great expectations before the game but they always try to do their best. Radule Radulovic added that had to play against one of Europe’s best teams.
