Foreshadow: Veszprém – Schaffhausen

Telekom Veszprém’s team is playing a Champions’ League match on home court on Saturday at 5:30PM. They are on the third place in the Swiss competition after they beat St. Gallen with 9 goals, however they are 2 points away from the leading position. As for Champions’ League Schaffhausen lost against Silkeborg with only one goal on last Thursday. The most successful player was Gábor Császár, who also played by our team earlier, with 11 goals and after him Manuel Liniger with 5 goals.

„A” group of the Champions’ League got even stronger compared to previous years and the Swiss Champion is trying to strengthen its team because of that. They have Aurel Bringolf, Swiss National Team’s goalkeeper; Michael Szyba, who is an Olympic Games semi-finalist and World Championship bronze medalist with the Polish National Team and they have also Swedish Kristian Bliznac in their team.

 

 

Schaffhausen’s team participated in the most prestigious Cup series 8 times and they could get over the preliminary round 2 times in the seasons of 2010/11 and 2011/12. Another interesting thing is that the guest team have won its last 5 championship matches. In the last three years they have doubled in Switzerland because they won both the Championship and the Cup.

 

Telekom Veszprém’s team made a 24:24 draw in the home of Flensburg last week and on Tuesday they won on a Hungarian Championship match against Balmazújváros with 28:24.
