Foreshadow: Veszprém – PSG

One of the most important home games is going to take place this Saturday, at 3 PM in Veszprém Arena. The top team of the group Paris Saint-German is hosted by runner-up MVM Veszprém.

The aim of Veszprém is to take revenge and regain the group winning against PSG. The first game of the two teams, when both right backs of Veszprém were injured, ended with the victory of Paris (29:27). In the home team, Mikkel Hansen was the most productive player with 11 goals, while Aron Palmarsson scored 7 goals in our team.

 

Winning that game at the end of October, PSG became the first in the “A” group and since they continue their winning series, including the two victories over THW Kiel (26:30, 37:30), the team still remains in its position. Meanwhile, Veszprém defeated the team of Celje in both matches (27:30, 34:28) keeping the one-point gap with Paris. Therefore, gaining the two points will be especially important.

  

 

The most productive players of the teams are the same: Mikkel Hansen is on top of the CL scoring list with 45 goals, while former top scorer Momir Ilic scored 17 goals less than his Parisian opponent, same as PSG’s other key player Nikola Karabatic.

 

If we recall the previous matches of these two teams, the above mentioned players turn out to be the most successful ones. Ilic has scored 36 goals against Paris so far, while Hansen 47 goals against Veszprém. If we only consider the goals during one game, the Danish right back turns out to be the most productive player since he scored a total of 15 goals during the rematch of the quarter final in spring. László Nagy is our most successful player considering the goals in one game because he managed to score 9 goals in April 2014, in Paris.
