2015. Dec. 19. Saturday, 12:13
The last game of 2015 takes place at 6 PM, on Saturday. MVM Veszprém is going to host Tatran Presov in SEHA League in Veszprém Arena. Live broadcast on Digi Sport 2.
In the previous season we played twice with the Slovakian champion in the regular season of SEHA League. We played our second SEHA League game against them in September of 2014, which ended with our 3-goal victory (29:32). The game was held in December when we gained glorious triumph again (37:25). Tatran ended up in the 5th place of the regular season meaning that they could participate in SEHA Final Tournament but then they did not get into the semi-final.
There were some changes in the team during the summer. The former coach Peter David was replaced by the former Czech coach Rastislav Trtik, who had been the coach of Presov between 2008 and 2011. Many players left and many players signed for the team.
Arrived: Alexey Peskov (ZTR Zaporozhye), Igor Chupryna (Lokomotiv Chelyabinsk), Ivan Ivkovic (HCB OKD Karvina), Vladimir Bozic (ALPLA HC Hard), David Pogany (START Nove Zamky)
Departed: Dainis Kristopans (Meshkov Brest), Tomas Urban (ThSV Eisenach), Jakub Krupa (Azoty Pulawy), Svetislav Verkic (ThSV Eisenach)
After four years, Tatran was able to get back into the Champions League’s top teams but it ended up as the last team of “C” group with 2 victories and 8 defeats. They gained points in the game against Medvedi and Vojvodina.
The 11-time winner Slovakian champion team and the 12-time Cup winner had a great start in this season of SEHA League; out of 10 games they gained 9 victories, they were defeated by Vardar. However, they were defeated in their last three games: against Borac, Nexe and Vardar. They are currently in the 4th place of the table behind Vardar, Veszprém and Zagreb. One of their players, the former top scorer Radoslav Antl is in the 1st place of the scoring list with 92 goals. Bojan Zupanjac is behind him on the list with 65 goals, while Gasper Marguc from Veszprém is the 3rd with his 61 goals. Their goalkeepers are also outstanding: Igor Chupryna is the 7th (33,8%), while Vladimir Bozic is the 8th (32,8%) among the most productive players.
Yesterday, at the press conference Coach Xavi Sabaté and Andreas Nilsson said that they were expecting a hard game but they as well as the fans want to end the year 2015 with a victory.
