Telekom Veszprém will be playing against Orlen Wisla Plock on Saturday at 5:00 pm in the VELUX EHF Champions League. The match will be broadcasted live by Sport1 from 4:45 pm.
Polish Plock comes to the Veszprém Aréna. We met them 7 times so far and they could only beat us once. In 2014 they won by one goal in Poland but in the second leg we beat them by 5 and marched right to the best of 8. Our record is 4 wins, 2 draw and a loss against them. We met already in this season where they managed to steal a point from us and got a 28:28 draw in their home. On that game Palmarsson scored 8 goals and Sulic scored 7.
Our opponent of Saturday currently stands at 6th place of Group A, although it does not describe their performance properly. They achieved many surprising results which will probably have influence on the top 4 teams battling for a better spot. Said above the draw against us. The other big surprises were their games against Kiel. They beat the Germans by 2 goals in Poland and on the second leg, in Germany, the result was a draw. Last time they played in the CL was on the 18th of February against Silkeborg. The result was a 3 goal win for the Polish side. The top scorers in the series: Sime Ivic with 43 goals, Dmtriy Zhitnikov with 39 goals and Gilberto Duarte with 37 goals. Sime Ivic scored 8 goals against us in the fall season.

Plock leads the Polish Ekstraklasa's Group B. They played 19 games so far and they won 18 out of it. The interesting thing about the Polish league is that there is no draw. If the game ends in a draw, the teams go overtime and decidie the outcome there. Last time they played in the domestic league was Wednesday. No need for overtime there, confident win for Plock over Azoty-Pulawy (25:29). Azoty is the second behind Plock and with this win they have a 5 point advantage in the standings.
„Építők” played in Tatabánya this week and won by 6 goals. The last time we played in the VELUX EHF Champions League we beat Kiel in Germany with a great performance lst Wednesday. Ilic scored 7 while Lékai and Nagy both scored 6 goals there.
It will be an important match on Saturday, and Veszprém can get important points which keeps the hope alive for the 3rd place in the group.
Let's go Veszprém!
