Foreshadow: Veszprém – Mezőkövesd

 

Mezőkövesdi KC will visit Telekom Veszprém on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the K&H League in the Veszprém Arena. The game will be broadcasted live by Veszprém Handball TV YouTube channel.

 

 

This season we have met Mezőkövesd already, in November. We had a three goals lead in the half time, which was expanded to a seven-goal, 22:29 victory. Top scorer of Veszprém was Dejan Manaskov with seven goals, while from the opponent, Jancsó scored four times.

 

Mezőkövesd is in a tough place now, as they are in tie with Cegléd which is on relegation spot. Before them in the standings there is Budakalász with a one, and Eger with a two point lead, so there will be tough competition between these four teams avoiding relegation in the last few rounds. Our opponents won four times, drawn three times and lost fourteen times our of their 21 games. Last time they travelled to Tatabánya and lost by five goals, 31:26. Their top scorer in the league is Stanko Stankovic with 73 goals.

 

Telekom Veszprém played on Wednesday at home against Grundfos Tatabánya. The important championship points stayed in Veszprém after an increasingly good performance from the team and a 32:27 victory. Manuel Strlek played well throughout the game and scored eight times. In the Champions League, the last opponent was Sporting CP, on home court as well, against whom Veszprém advanced to the quarterfinals with a confident performance.
