Telekom Veszprém hosts Sport36-Komló on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the next round of the K&H League. The game will be broadcasted on our official Youtube channel.
Last year we have met Komló twice and managed to beat them every time. The first game was in Veszprém, and we won 32:17. Dragan Gajic scored ten, while Igor Markovic scored four goals. The second game was in Komló and another Veszprém victory came, although it was a bit closer than the first one. Markovic and Gebhardt score six goals each, while Ugalde scored eight times from the ending 24:32 result.
Last season Komló played well and achieved a very good fifth position at the end of the season, which meant that they could participate in the qualification round of the EHF Cup. They met the Greek side, Olympiacos and started the clash very well at home. They managed to win 34:29 and had a great chance to move on to the next round thank to Markovic’s fourteen goals. Unfortunately, the celebration was postponed as the Greeks won 27:22 and moved on with more goals scored in away. In the second leg Srecko Jerkovic scored seven goals.
Our next opponent did not get into this season so well as they are only on the eighth place so far with four victories, three defeats and a draw. Their top scorer is of course, Igor Markovic with 49 goals. Last Saturday, they hosted Budakalász and achieved a stunning victory of ten goals. Markovic scored eleven on this one.
Three new players came over the summer, while two left. Ivan Matic came from HRK Gorica, Ádám Pál came from HSC Bad Neustadt and Stefan Mojlovity came from Csurgó. Balázs Szögi retired from handball and Joel Huesmann did not find a club for himself yet.
The “Építők” had a rough last week because they won against Mezőkövesd on Tuesday (22:29), however they suffered another loss in the Champions League against the Swedish champions, Kristianstad (32:29).
The last week was disappointing both as a Fan and as a player, but the only way from this situation is up, and we have to do it together. The boys are working hard to finish this period as soon as possible and to be able to bring a smile again to Veszprém’s fantastic Supporters.
Let’s go Veszprém!
