Foreshadow: Veszprém - Komló

 

  

 

Telekom Veszprém hosts Sport36-Komló on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Veszprém Aréna. The K&H League game will not be broadcasted by any television.

 

Komló currently stands on the 5th position on the table with 10 points. They played 7 games so far and won 5 out of them while losing twice. They suffered 2 defeats in the first 2 rounds of the championship but after that they started a 5 game winning streak which we hope to break on Tuesday. They could win over Csurgó, Orosháza, Gyöngyös, Vác and Eger. Their top scorer is Srecko Jerkovic with 37 goals.

 

Our opponent of Tuesday finished 8th last season with 8 victories, 5 draws and 13 losses. Veszprém and Komló faced each other on 24 August in the season behind us. In Veszprém the result turned out to be in our favor and we won 39:17. Renato Sulic scored 8 goals on that game. The next game was in Komló where we won again in September. The result was 27:31 for us. Crisitan Ugalde was the top scorer of the team with 6 goals.

 

Komló signed Péter Grünfelder from Mezőkövesd and Sándor Balázs from Balmazújváros over the summer while Ákos Pethő left to Balmazújváros and Bence Szöllősi left to a team so far unknown.

 

The last time the “Építők” played was in the Hungarian championship against Szeged where they beat the archrival Szeged by 9 goals in the derby of Hungary. Before that, they played in the Champions League and snatched an important point from Poland against Kielce. Our unbeaten run stretched to 12 games and only the victory is acceptable against Komló too.
