Foreshadow: Veszprém - Kielce

 

Telekom Veszprém hosts PGE Vive Kielce in the Veszprém Arena on Saturday. This VELUX EHF Champions League group game will start at 6:00 p.m. and it will be broadcasted live by Sport 1 from 5:45 p.m.

 

 

Kielce is still trying to move from 2 victories in our mutual history while Veszprém can show 5 victories against the Polish side. In our last encounter, another statistic was introduced in our history when we achieved a 32:32 draw thanks to a late equalizer by Gasper Marguc. On that game our top scorer was Kent Robin Tonnesen who bagged 6 goals.

 

Our next opponent in the Champions League is currently on the 5th spot in Group B. They played 9 games so far and won 3 times while drawing twice and losing 4 times. Their 4 defeats were carried out by PSG back to back, Celje and Brest. Their top scorer in the CL is Alex Dujshebaev with 40 goals, behind him comes Karol Bielecki with 36 goals and Blaz Janc and Michal Jurecki with 29 goals each.

 

 

In the Polish Ekstraklasa Kielce is leading its group. They played 14 games so far and won all of them, collecting 48 points in total. Behind them Zabrze is trailing by 14 points. In their last game in the domestic league they scored 46 goals while conceding 27 against the last Gdynia. Interesting fact that Kielce is in a 54 games winning streak in the Polish championship.

 

The “Építők” lost their last 3 CL games, so there is a lot of space to improve in the game against Vive Kielce. In the K&H League they played against Dabas on 21 November and after a close first half they sealed the deal with an impressive win of 21:39. The boys need every bit of support from the fans, so we hope that the full house will give them new strength.
