Foreshadow: Veszprém – Csurgó

 

Telekom Veszprém hosts Csurgói KK on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The game, which will kick-off the 2018/19 season for the “Építők”, will be broadcasted by M4 Sport from 6:15 p.m.

 

 

We have met Csurgó last season twice. We played the opening round against them just like this year, and we managed to start the championship well, with a 31:15 victory. On the second game in the December of 2017, we won again with a big margin. Our top scorer in the 19:33 win was Dragan Gajic with 9 goals.

 

Our next opponent finished last season at the 6th place of the K&H League. They played 26 games and won 11 times, while drawing 3 times and losing 12 times. They collected 25 points along their run.

 

 

Csurgó had a huge movement of players, as 6 new players came while 9 left. Aleh Astrashapkin came from Meshkov Brest, Alem Toskic and Rok Zaponsek signed from Velenje, Gyula Kerkovits joined from NEKA, while Szabolcs Nagy and Tamás Farkas arrived from PLER-Budapest. On the leaving side: László Bartucz signed with Tatabánya, Tibor Gazdag went to Nagykanizsa, Bojan Radjenovic left to Borac, Jerebie Iulian went to Maribor, Wellington Ferreira signed with Balatonfüred, Darko Pavlovic has retired, while Ljubomir Josic, Áron Géczi and Ákos Balogh are still looking for a new team.

 

The last time the “Építők” played was last Friday, when they hosted Celje on their last preparation game. The result was a close, 30:29 victory. Our top scorer was Dragan Gajic with 6 goals.
