Foreshadow: Veszprém – Celje

The Champions League keeps going for the team of MKB-MVM Veszprém at the weekend. On Monday, at 6:45 pm we will have RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko as guest team in the Arena. The match will be broadcast on Digi Sport1.

 

 

Out of the two teams, the game will be more risky for our team because in the case of a victory or a draw we would get into the first place of the group C which is often called the “death group”. Actually, the Slovenian team does not have any chance to get on but we are sure that they will not arrive with tied hands. As it turns out from the statements, Coach Ortega and the players are expecting a difficult game, and they are naturally aiming at scoring two points, even if only one point would be enough.

 

We have already introduced the team of Celje in the article before the first match. One thing has changed since then in their team, namely that Barcelona’s loan player, Czech left back, Michael Kasal signed to Porto.

In this season, their most successful player is Miha Zarabec who is the sixth in Champions League’s list with his 53 goals. In this ranking, Momir Ilic from Veszprém is the second, while Barcelona’s player, Kiril Lazarov is still at the top of the list with 64 goals.

 

This will be the 10th match in the clubs’ history and we will be hosting 35 guest fans. We have had 7 victories, 1 draw, and 1 defeat against them so far. We hope that on Sunday we will have our 8th triumph along with being group winners in CL again.
