Foreshadow: Veszprém – Brest

 

Today, at 3 p.m. Telekom Veszprém will face HC Meshkov Brest for the bronze medal of the Eurotournoi preparation tournament. The game will not be broadcasted.

 

 

Veszprém and Brest were in the same CL group last year, and that is when they have met the last time. In away, Veszprém achieved a 3 goals victory, 26:29, while at home, they won by a huge margin of 12 goals. The top scorer in the 34:22 game was Momir Ilic, with 8 goals.

 

Brest was in Group B of the Champions League, and they tried to reach the top 16 team from there. They played 14 games and won 4 times, while drawing twice and losing 8 times. Their biggest win was against PSG, when they tricked the French star-studded team with a 1 goal victory in Belarus. On that game, the top scorer was Petar Djordjic, who scored 10 times. Eventually, they managed to qualify for the best 16, but there, Nantes knocked them out very early. Their top scorer in the CL was Petar Djordjic with 61 goals.

 

 

In the Eurotournoi, Brest started with a defeat from PSG on their first game day, but then they managed to beat HC Vardar by 10 goals yesterday, which meent that they have finished the group in the second place.

 

The “Építők” met with Montpellier yesterday and suffered a 4 goals loss. Our top scorer was again Dragan Gajic with 7 goals.
