Telekom Veszprém will be the guest of MOL-Pick Szeged and continues the Hungarian Championship series. The match begins at 1:30PM but the TV broadcast on M4 start at 1PM.
The Hungarian Championship continues with a derby because Veszprém visits Szeged, which is always an exciting event. The two teams are on the top of the league for many years now and the scenario is the same in this year, too. The two rival teams are still unbeaten; however Veszprém had 12 while Szeged had 8 matches so far.
MOL-Pick Szeged got strengthened by 11 new players. Bence Bánhidi, Richárd Bodó and Bendegúz Bóka are there since summer representing the Hungarian talents while Denis Buntic, Marin Sego, Mario Sostaric, Matej Gaber, Pedro Rodriguez, Sandro Obranovic, Sergei Gorbok and Stas Skube brought international routine to the team.
The ‘blue ones’ are still unbeaten in the Championship after 8 matches, they scored 227 goals and got 175. Last time they played against Komló on October 11 where they won for 36:16. Their best goal scorers are Pedro Rodriguez with 35 goals, Zsolt Balogh with 32 goals and Mario Sostaric with 31 goals.
They started the Champions League well. In the first round they made a draw (28:28) against the German Champion Löwen at home and in the second round the defeated Zagreb away. Two defeats followed the success against Vardar Szkopje and Kielce. In the last round they won against Meskhov Breszt on home court. Best goal scorers internationally are Zsolt Balogh with 27, Jonas Kallman with 18, Denis Buntic and Sergei Gorbok with 14-14 goals.
After the CL loss against Barcelona last weekend, on Tuesday “Építők” got back to the path of victory defeating Nexe Nasice’s team with 4 goals in the SEHA League.
It will be a very important match, which can have an influence on the result of the whole Championship. However, according to the
statements of Roland Mikler and Gábor Ancsin they have prepared well for the game and they know exactly how much depends on this game, which will be the 170th clash between the two teams.
As it can be seen on following all-time record – made by Zoltán Lang – we have 116 victories, 9 draws and 44 defeats against our rival. We hope that after the match on Saturday Veszprém can be the happier one at the end!
Go on, Veszprém!
