Foreshadow: Kiel - Veszprém

 

THW Kiel hosts Telekom Veszprém in the VELUX EHF Champions League on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcasted by Sport 1 from 7:00 p.m.

 

 

Veszprém travels to Germany to play a real group clash against Kiel. The two sides are separated by 2 points in the standings, as Kiel is on 4th place with 11 points and Veszprém is on 3rd with 13 points. The first encounter between the teams ended with the victory of Veszprém. Momir Ilic scored 6 goals at the 26:24 win while from the opponent, Weinhold could score 8. The history between the clubs stand at 10 Veszprém victory with 7 Kiel on the side.

The German record champion has been suffering from injuries lately. According to the news, Nikola Bilyk and Christian Dissinger are also shaken up, just as Domagoj Duvnjak. The question is, who will be healthy enough to play on Wednesday.

 

The ”Építők” played a 18:31 game against Gyöngyös, preparing for the big game in the Champions League. Marguc scored 6 goals on that one. This is going to be their first game in the CL in 2018, as they previously played against Polish cahmpions PGE Vive Kielce on 2 December 2017 and won, thereby capturing 3rd place in the group. The game on Wednesday has a big stake because with a win, we could get Kiel off of our tails and get a breather on the 3rd spot or even with a Flensburg loss against Kielce we can jump to the second spot of the group. The boys have been practicing for weeks now and they are well prepared for the clash.
