Telekom Veszprém is making a guest appearance in Germany on Wednesday where they will play against THW Kiel in the VELUX EHF Champions League. The game starts at 6:30 pm and is broadcasted live by Sport 1 from 6:00 pm.
Veszprém plays in Germany on Wednesday against Kiel. We were able to beat them in this season at home where we won by 2 goals. The result was 21:19 for us. On that game Gábor Ancsin and Gasper Marguc both scored 5 goals. That game makes the two teams’ common history a bit better for us. We played 15 games against each other and we won 8 times while Kiel won 7.
Group 'A' in the VELUX EHF Champions League gets more exciting as 3 teams fight each other for better position. Flensburg and Kiel are equal in points and stand on the 3rd and 4th position respectively. Behind them tightly is Veszprém trying to gain a better spot for the games to come. Kiel defeated Schaffhausen and took advantage in our loss against Barcelona and took us over on 4th place, leaving us in the 5th. Kiel themselves have a not so great season so far. They played 10 games out of which they could only win 5 times. They have a draw and 4 losses besides that. Barcelona, Veszprém, Plock and Flensburg were able to beat them. Their top scorers are Domagoj Duvnjak with 36 goals, Marko Vujin with 35 goals and Niclas Ekberg with 31 goals.

Our opponent stand on the 3rd place in the Bundesliga with a deficit of 3 points to the leader Flensburg. Last time Kiel played in Germany, they played the derby against Flensburg where they lost by only 1 goal. The exciting game ended with a 30:29 result. Domagoj Duvnjak scored 7 goals on that game while Nikola Bylik scored 6. The domestic topscorer, too, is Domagoj Duvnjak with 83 goals in 19 games.
The “Építők” played against Barcelona on Saturday and they suffered a loss against the Spanish champions to 25:22. Last Tuesday they played in the Hungarian championship and they managed to beat Eger by 9 goals.
Hopefully the number of victories in our history against Kiel will increase further on Wednesday and our team will be able to grab the win they need so much.
Let's go Veszprém!
