Foreshadow: Budakalász – Veszprém

 

CYEB Budakalász hosts Telekom Veszprém in the K&H League on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The game will not be broadcasted by any TV channels.

 

 

We have met Budakalász twice last year in the Hungarian championship. The first game was played on our court and we won 29:20. The second game, in away, we put another goal into the difference and won 22:32. On the first game, Dragan Gajic scored 10 goals.

 

Budakalász did well last season as they have finished on the 4th spot in the league. This position let them qualify of the EHF Cup. They joined the qualifications in the 3rd round, which was sadly over pretty soon. Their opponent was the currently 2nd in the Spanish league, Anaitasuna who beat Budakalász back-to-back. Helvetia decided the clash in away when they won 27:35. Our next opponent lost again in Spain, this time by 5 goals, which meant that the cup run was over for them.

 

 

Budakalász currently stands on the 9th place in the K&H League with 3 victories, 3 draws and 4 defeats out of 10 games. Last Wednesday they played against MOL-Pick Szeged and managed to achieve a surprising draw, therefore clinching one point from the runner up of the league. The final result was 35:35. The top scorer of the game was Emil Berggren with 13 goals. Their top scorer in the league is Bence Nagy with 66 goals in 10 games.

 

Our opponent of Wednesday signed 6 players for this season. The new players in the team are the already mentioned Emil Berggren from Wetzlar, Tomas Reznícek from Gyöngyös, Csaba Leimeter from Tatabánya, Hans Johan Schmidt from Pénzügyőr Benjamin Sinkovits and Nemes Richárd from Balatonfüred. Only 3 players left Budakalász, Kriszitán Rédai, Alexander Semikov and Michal Holdos can look for a new team now.

 

The “Építők” played in the Champions League last time against Kielce where they won with a great team effort and beat the Polish champion 31:26. In the Hungarian championship they played against Dabas the last time on 21 November and won 21:39.
