Foreshadow: Besiktas – Veszprém

After a one week break, MVM Veszprém is going to play in the hardest tournament this time, namely in the Champions League. On Saturday, according to the local time in Hungary, at 5 PM our team is going to clash Besiktas in Istanbul. Live broadcast on Sport1.

 

 

In our previous article on the teams’ first game, we have already introduced the team of Besiktas Mogaz. In October MVM Veszprém gained a confident victory (22:25) against the Turkish team. In our team, Ilic was the most productive player with 9 goals, while on the other side Djukic turned out to be the best with his 6 goals.

 

 

Since then, Besiktas has succeeded in gaining its first points by their victory over PPD Zagreb. We have to take their achievements seriously. Although they have been defeated in their other matches and are currently the last team on the list, they have always played a tight game on home court. Our players called the attention to that. Coach Xavi Sabaté highlighted playmaker Pribak, pivot player Özbarah and their goalkeepers, and we should not forget about the Serbian right wing Darko Djukic either, who is currently in the 23nd place with 52 goals.

 

 

Our next host team had a match on Tuesday and gained a victory (34:32) against Zagnos Erkek Hentbol Spor in the Turkish Championship. MVM Veszprém also won their last game (50:16) against Zomimak Strumica in the SEHA League.

 

Our boys started preparing for the match with analyzing videos, and training in the Sinan Erdem Arena with the capacity of 16 000 spectators. Today, after analyzing videos again, they are going to the venue of the game at 4 PM. According to the local time in Hungary, the game against Besiktas Mogaz starts at 5 PM.
