Foreshadow: Aalborg - Veszprém

 

Aalborg Handbold hosts Telekom Veszprém on Sunday at 4:50 p.m. in the VELUX EHF Champions League. Sport 1 will broadcast the game from 4:30 p.m.

 

 

The first time we met with the Danish champion was on 4 November and it was the first encounter not only in the group but also in any European cup competition. We could say that it went well for us, as we have won confidently by 6 goals, 30:24. Our top scorer on that game was Máté Lékai who scored 7 goals while 6 other players scored at least 3 goals in our team.

 

Aalborg is still on the last position in our group. After losing in Veszprém they played a back-to-back battle with Kielce. They lost at home from the Polish 30:34 but in the next leg they were only defeat by one goal in a close game in Poland where the result was 28:27. They could only win 1 game out of 8 rounds and that was a home win against Celje. Besides that they have 7 loss. Their top scorer in the CL is Buster Juul-Lassen with 39 goals.

 

 

In the Danish championship, Aalborg stands at the 6th position, with GOG leading before Silkeborg and Skjern. Last time they played in the 888Ligaen was on Wednesday when they faced Aarhus and and managed to win 29:24. Their top scorer in the domestic league is Patrick Wiesmach with 55 goals. Interesting fact that Wiesmach only played on 10 games and his shooting efficiency is 80%.

 

The “Építők” lost their last two Champions League game against PSG both at home and in away by 5 goals. However, the team is still undefeated in the K&H league. The last time we played was on Tuesday against Dabas and we won 21:39.
