"Every game in Veszrém Arena is unique"

On Friday it became official that the team captain of Telekom Veszprém has extended his contract with 2 years so he will strengthen the Hungarian record champion team until 30 June, 2019.

 

 

It means a lot. First of all thanks the Club for their trust. I feel well both mentally and physically and till the Club thinks that I can help Veszprém, then I will help the team. But I will be honest, it would be hard to let such a good environment go. So I am really happy that I can enjoy the support and trust of the fans with all of my teammates.

 

It is not a secret that after my arrival to Hungary the Club and the players set the victory of the CL as a target. We were close to that for two times. This year we may let that chance go. However, we will not stop, we will fight with more attention, power and intrepidity even if we will have more matches in the season. We will have a hard time but of course our goal is to get into the CL Final4, into the finals and to win that. This is the goal, this is what we will work for.

 

 

I think that the results prove that our Club is among the world's frontline because not a lot of teams can say that they played CL final in two consecutive years and what is more to be part of the Final4 before. We have to go further on this road. I feel that the professional background is good, we have an excellent coach who shows the right way. One can say that our team is not rivaling other teams but others are rivaling us. We certified a lot of good players and excellent players are coming to our team next to our excellent players. Our goal is to be unified when speaking about the Hungarian Championship, the SEHA League or the CL because a team can be successful only when the target is the same. About the background work of the team I can say that it improved a lot. In the name of the team I would like to thank all the workers behind the team for their effort in the previous season. We, the players, enjoy our holiday now but here in the offices there is a big rush. For the success of a team the humble work of the background workers is indispensable.

 

If the CL trophy would be ours in the next 3 seasons, it will be that special moment. Nevertheless, every match played in the Veszprém Arena and the atmosphere is unique and feels good. Moreover it can be said that not only a city but practically a whole country is curious about Veszprém which means that the fans can see high quality handball games from us.
