EuroTournoi 2015 is coming

Two weeks after Veszprém gained victory in Sparkassen Cup third time in a row, the team is now facing another preparation tournament and the opponent teams do not seem to be easy to defeat.

 

Six teams are travelling to Strasbourg to the EuroTournoi and going to be divided into two groups and the groups in the same place are going to fight for the final order. The teams are going to have one match per day on August 20-23. Our team’s first game is on the second day. The team has already gone to France until Monday.

 

 

Veszprém plays with two French teams, Chambery and Montpellier, in one group. The other group consists of the French champion and EuroTournoi title defender PSG Handball; the Spanish Naturhouse La Rioja; and the Swiss Kadetten Schaffhausen including our former player, Gábor Császár.

 

Looking at the teams, we have the chance to get into the final where we might even face Paris which we defeated in the CL quarter final in the past two years. This year, however, Paris seems to be stronger thanks to the Karabatic brothers. Moreover, there is a change in the coach position: Philippe Gardent left the team and Zvonimir Serdarusic took his place who had won eleven Bundesliga and a Champions League trophy sitting on the bench. In case of a Veszprém-Paris game, we would face a serious challenge.

21.08.2015, 20:30: Veszprém - Chambery Savoie Handball (group game)

22.08.2015, 20:30: Montpellier AHB - Veszprém (group game)

23.08.2015, xx:yy: Veszprém – A team in the same place of the other group (qualifying game)

 

The teams are going to play for the 5th place at 1 PM, the bronze match is going to begin at 3 PM, and the final at 5 PM.
