Telekom Veszprém visited Budakalász Kézilabda Zrt. in the recent round of the K&H league. The first two goals were scored by the home team, but Veszprém equalized quickly. In the 7th minute the party were tied, 4:4, but three minutes later the guests had the lead of 5:7, after which Budakalász called a timeout. Veszprém had a four goals lead by the 16th minute, 6:10. The „Építők” were slowly warming up in the game and started dominating. In order Mackovsek, Borozan, Marguc and Marguc again scored. Gyula Forgács called a timeout in the 23rd minute, at 9:16 standing. Veszprém turned to higher gear by the end of the half and gained a 10:19 lead. Sterbik saved two penalties in the first half, which ended in a 10:21 lead for the half.

 

In the beginning of the second half both teams scored a lot of goals, the scoreboard showed a 12:24 standing in the 35th minute. Marguc played with huge enthusiasm and scored 10 goals by the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Koller received his third suspension of the game and therefore had to leave the game with a red card. In the 50th minute Ilic Zoran got his opportunity changing Yahia in right back. The score in the 55th minute was 21:37, when Bence Szűcs could step on court as well. Veszprém played well and with confidence and won with a huge margin, to 24:41 in Budakalász.

 

 

David Davis: We took this game seriously and fortunately, our units worked well. We had a good defense and from that, we could lead counter attacks. It is not important with how many goals we win, but to play with the right mentality and attitude, and to come off the court with good feelings.

 

Rogerio Moraes: We achieved an important victory today, to get our confidence back. The Hungarian league in really important for us and for the Club as well. As Coach Davis said we had a good and aggressive defense and our offense was on high speed as well. We have not made a good work in the recent weeks, so we can be happy now for a while, but starting tomorrow, we have to start working again to get back to the right track in the Champions League as well.

 

 

Gyula Forgács: Congratulations to Veszprém for this easy and well deserved win. Unfortunately, the loss against Eger was still in the team and today’s match was too close to achieve a good performance. This is all we had today, but my team fought well. The real difference came out between the two teams.

 

Ádám Török: I would like to congratulate Veszprém as well. A my coach said, this game was too close to the loss against Eger and the atmosphere was not the one we are used to in the locker room. This game was not the most important one for us, so now we have to start preparing for Ferencváros, where we would like to collect the first points in the league.
