Barca – Veszprém pregame statements

 

Telekom Veszprém will face Barca on Thursday at 20:45 in the EHF Champions League. We asked our head coach and players about their expectations about the game.

 

David Davis: It is clear that Barca is in the best shape in the Champions League this season, they did not even lose a point. When they play at home they are really strong. We will play our first game against them, as the first one had to be postponed. The team is so excited to play against the strongest team of the Champions League and against the quality teams, we always bring a good performance so I expect a good match there. We want to enjoy this good match, enjoy our game against a great club. I am excited for this month, because we started December well. I hope that we will continue this way towards the end of the month, until the Final4.

 

 

Gasper Marguc: We expect a tough game because Barcelona is the best team in the Champions League, they are still without defeat, without losing any points. They deserve their respect. We are not going there with our hands above our heads, so we will do everything we can to surprise them and to win. Barca runs a lot, so will do our best to win the to points and play a good game.

 

 

Blaz Blagotinsek: We know that Barca is probably the best team right now. They play really good, and they are very dangerous in contra attack. They have outstanding players for each position, no wonder they did not lose any games this season. Unfortunately, we could not play the first game in Veszprém. Of course, we will not arrive to Barcelona with a white flag. I think we have to play a really good game if we want to beat them. Be concentrated, and limit the mistakes. The key like always will be defense and the goalkeepers. We have to push them to our tempo in the game. We want to win our last Champions League game of 2020. I hope that we can show a good performance and go to the Final4 with good feelings. It will be hard, but we want to win!

 

 

Vladimir Cupara: Barca is for sure the biggest favorite to win the Champions League this year, but of course, we are one of the best teams as well. It will be an amazing game, but also a difficult one for both teams. Barca did not lose for a long time in Palau Blaugrana but we are prepared well for that. Everybody has been waiting for this game for a long time now. We will give 100% or more to win that match. This game against Barca is very important for me personally as well, because I have never won against them in my career, so I really want this victory.
