A new tradition in Veszprém Arena

This Sunday, a new tradition will begin with the Champions League match against PPD Zagreb in Veszprém Arena, in the home of MVM Veszprém. From now on, a nearly one and a half meters in diameter handball will come to the fore before every CL game held in Veszprém.

 

Before the official ceremony, the ball will be dropped from the ceiling structure to the court where one of our fans (for the first time, István Gyurákovics from Sector O) will put the memorial table made for this particular match and previously dedicated by the players of our opponent team onto it. Then, the ball will be pulled up to the top of the Arena, removed in the interval between CL matches and exhibited in the hall of the Arena.

 

The idea and its implementation are tied to master carpenter Miklós Piltman and the “Tető Építők Egyesülete”. Along with his colleagues, he designed and prepared the 1.46-meter diameter, approximately 70 kg ball made of larch-wood. After creating this fine piece of work, they contacted both the managers of the Arena and the team. We are, of course, honored and grateful for the offering.
