500 Super Final Handball series will kick-off in Dubai

 

It was announced today, in the form of an official press conference, that there will be a new tournament series under the name of Dubai Sport Council in collaboration with the International Handball Federation. The series will be called 500 Super Final Handball, and its aim will be to spread this sport in the Arab region.

 

The first two team competing on 21 December 2018 in the World Trade Center of Dubai was announced in today’s press conference. Nine times Champions League winner FC Barcelona Lassa will face one time CL winne and Polish champions PGE Vive Kielce. The winning team will be awarded with 300 thousand dollars and right to compete next year as well, while the loser will get 200 thousand dollars.

 

During the conference, our Club was mentioned in the announcement:

“I can officially confirm that the team who will play in the 2019 500 Super Final Handball, against the winner of 2018, will be Telekom Veszprem HC of Hungary furthermore I would also like to announce that if a team wins this title three times in a row, they will receive an additional bonus of $300,000.” – said Slawek Gebka, owner of the tournament.

 

The ambassador of the series is Bertrand Gille, who is currently the Director of Youth Development in the United Arab Emirates. He thinks that the popularity of handball is restricted to Europe and for the upcoming Arab youth the tournament will give inspiration to perform on the highest level by seeing such teams and star players playing handball in their country.

 

Our Club will play with the winner of FC Barcelona Lassa – PGE Vive Kielce in the World Trade Center of Dubai on 20 December 2019.
