This year Telekom Veszprém's roster consist of 20 players. In our new series we are going to ask the same 20 questions to each player. We are moving up by the jersey number, our nineteenth subject was Máté Lékai. You can read the chat with him below.
What is your favorite food?
My mother’s chicken pancakes. They pancakes are stacked after they are done. Then comes sour cream, chicken and another pancake. I do not know the exact recipe but it is very delicious and I like that the most. Of course I would put pizza on second place and lasagna on third.
What is your favorite drink?
Unfortunately, I drink a lot of coke but I really like champagne if we are talking about alcohol.
What is your favorite color?
My two favorite colors are khaki and yellow.
What is your favorite movie?
I am a huge Start Wars fan, but if I have to say a film, I would say Forest Gump.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress?
I like tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and George Clooney. I was a fan of the Ocean’s trilogy.
Who is your favorite musician?
I do not have a favorite musician, I would rather say artists whose concert I would like to get to. Beyoncé, Pharell Williams or Bruno Mars. I would love to attend their concerts.
What is your favorite song?
There is no such song.
What is your favorite book?
I do not have that much time to read, unfortunately. The last book I read was from a Portuguese author, it was called A formula de Deus. It makes you think. It is about the existence of God or something higher might.
What is your favorite animal?
I think dogs. I know that it is quite a cliché.
What are your habits before a game?
On game days I sleep as long as I can, I do not set an alarm and I put my phone on vibrate. I always clean my shoes off before the game but it is not a habit really.
What is your proudest moment in your career?
If we look at it success wise I would say the 4th place in the London Olympics and the 2 Champions League final. Other than these I am proud of where I have ended up in my career.
Who is your role model?
When I was little my role model was József Éles. Right now I do not have one but I still have many athlete whose career I respect and acknowledge.
What would you be if you were not a handball player?
As the football player, Peter Crouch has said it: a virgin.
Other than handball, which sport do you like the most? Which team and/or player do you support?
I love a lot of kind of sports. NFL, football, or tennis. MY favorite teams are Juventus in football, Roger Federer is tennis, Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. I really follow a lot of different sports.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I do not have a lot of free time, but that little I have I like to spend with my friends and my fiancé. If I had time, I would like to travel around the world.
Which is the prettiest city you have ever been to?
I love Budapest, I have to mention that. It is the one of the most beautiful city in the world. Fortunately, I have been to many beautiful places. I really liked Rome and Paris also. I have one place that made a huge impact on me and I would go back there anytime, that is New York. It is fantastic that you stand on those place where many movies were made and everything looks exactly the same.
What is your dream car?
My dream car is a DeLorean like they had in Back to the future. Jokes aside I would love to have a Porsche 911.
What do you fear the most?
I am afraid of a lot of things. Everything that is creeping like snakes or bugs. I could say reptiles also. As I have read the other articles I am not alone with that.
What is your motto?
Let’s go boys, the whole country is with you! That is something I say from time to time.
Are there any skills you wish you had learned?
I would love to travel in time if I could. I would check how things were in the past and how it is going to be in the future. Also teleporting would be cool, because I have spent half of my life traveling ever since I have been playing handball.
