This year Telekom Veszprém's roster consist of 20 players. In our new series we are going to ask the same 20 questions to each player. We are moving up by the jersey number, our eighteenth subject was Iman Jamali. You can read the chat with him below.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is ghormeh sabzi, which is a Persian specialty. It is a kind if stew with vegetable, meat and a lot of beans.
What is your favorite drink?
My favorite is tea.
What is your favorite color?
It is grey.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite film is the Lion. It was nominated for an Oscar in a lot of category. It was so good.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress?
I do not have a favorite actor. When I was little I really loved Jackie Chan.
Who is your favorite musician?
I would say Michael Bublé. I like his work.
What is your favorite song?
My favorite song is from Bublé too. It is Feelin’ good. I listen to a lot of Persian music as well.
What is your favorite book?
I loved The Magic from Rhonda Byrne.
What is your favorite animal?
I love wolves. Because they can be like lions, but they live together in a pack and support each other. They prefer to die than giving up.
What are your habits before a game?
If we play at home, I like to wake up without an alarm. That is really important. If I do this than I do not have to sleep after lunch. If we are on the road, I wake up with the team and sleep an hour after lunch. Usually I do some stretching at home in the morning before I leave to the game.
What is your proudest moment in your career?
I am proud that I am the first Asian player who played in the Champions League Final4 and the first Iranian who played in Europe. I think the thing I am the proudest of is that I played in the Champions League Final4 against Barcelona.
Who is your role model?
I do not have a role model but I try to learn things from the biggest stars in my position. I try and learn their behavior. When I was younger I liked Kim Andersson, from Kiel. We could watch Bundesliga in Iran and I watched him play.
What would you be if you were not a handball player?
I would be a volleyball player. I learned to play in sport high school. We have a very good volleyball selection in Iran and I was good at it.
Other than handball, which sport do you like the most? Which team and/or player do you support?
I do not watch a lot of sport. If I have to say something than I would say tennis, but only if Roger Federer plays.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to talk with my family and friends but it is not so easy. It is a lot of video calling and whatsapp messages to Iran. I also love to hang out with my friends.
Which is the prettiest city you have ever been to?
The prettiest is the city I was born in, it is called Isfahan. I also like Budapest.
What is your dream car?
My dream car is a huge Porsche Macan.
What do you fear the most?
I do not fear anything right now.
What is your motto?
I think there are a lot of positive things to say in sports but my motto in life is Do not judge quickly. Never judge anyone too quickly.
Are there any skills you wish you had learned?
I would love to learn many languages. I would love to be an artist like my sister. She paints really beautiful pictures and I would like to be able to do that also.
