This year Telekom Veszprém's roster consist of 20 players. In our new series we are going to ask the same 20 questions to each player. We are moving up by the jersey number, our thirteenth subject was Gábor Ancsin. You can read the chat with him below.
What is your favorite food?
I love Hungarian food the most. MY favorite is probably bass stew with cottage cheese and pasta.
What is your favorite drink?
Still mineral water.
What is your favorite color?
Let’s say, white.
What is your favorite movie?
I liked Forrest Gump the most.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress?
My favorite actor is Tom Hanks, but it was pretty obvious from my favorite movie.
Who is your favorite musician?
I love every kind of music, starting from rock through rap and even jazz. I listen to them all.
What is your favorite song?
My all-time favorite song is Jump Around by House of Pain.
What is your favorite book?
Usually I read biographies but I cannot say a favorite one. The last book I read was Connor McGregor’s book called Notorious. I love to read about the life of athletes, actors but I can say War Novellas also.
What is your favorite animal?
Dogs, without doubt.
What are your habits before a game?
As most of the players, I have habits too, especially before home games. I always do the same things. I wake up early, take the dogs for a walk, I am in the nature, I breathe fresh air and do some stretching. I always eat pasta before home games. I put my shoes on last after I cleaned them. I dress from bottom to top.
What is your proudest moment in your career?
I would say winning the EHF Cup most importantly. Besides that I am proud of my Hungarian championship and cup titles.
Who is your role model?
I do not have one right now but growing up it was Michael Jordan.
What would you be if you were not a handball player?
Wow, hard question. I have no idea. I never thought of that.
Other than handball, which sport do you like the most? Which team and/or player do you support?
I love auto-motor sports and martial arts. To be honest I love watching every kind of sport.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like spending my free time with my girlfriend. I also like spending time with family and friends. It charges me up the most.
Which is the prettiest city you have ever been to?
I have been to a lot of places but never saw much things around the city. I love Budapest the most.
What is your dream car?
I prefer big cars because of my size. I am not that attracted to cars even though I love them. If I have to say one, it would be the 1971 Chevelle SS. I am keen on old timers.
What do you fear the most?
Rats. But mostly rodents in general.
What is your motto?
Live in the present, and grab the moments!
Are there any skills you wish you had learned?
I would love to learn how to teleport.
